CARBON POWER SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Carbon offers six scholarships in the amount of $1000 ($500 per semester). As per policy, these scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors whose parent(s) are member-owners (a person who receives electrical service from Carbon Power and Light, Inc.) in Carbon’s certificated service area. 

Two seniors will be selected from each of the three cooperative districts. If the appropriate number of applications is not received from each district, the remaining available scholarships may be distributed to other students who have applied from the other districts. Scholarships are provided to students attending an accredited college or vocational-technical school in Wyoming or at the University of Wyoming and are enrolled as a full time student.

 BASIN ELECTRIC SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Basin Electric Power Cooperative will award an applicant with one (1) $1,000 scholarship to further a student’s education at a certified Vocational or Technical school. 
Dependent children of Carbon Power & Light’s Member-Owners (those who receive electrical service from Carbon Power & Light) are eligible to receive this scholarship.
The scholarship must be used for educational costs, and the student must enter college in the fall of the school year for which the scholarship is given.

TRI-STATE SCHOALRSHIP INFORMATION
Tri-State Generation & Transmission will award two (2) $500 scholarships to students who enroll as a full time student. Students (including adopted and step-children) of Carbon Power & Light’s Member-Owners (those who receive electrical service from Carbon Power & Light) are eligible to receive this scholarship. The scholarship must be used for educational costs, and the student must enter college in the fall of the school year for which the scholarship is given.

Lineworker Scholarship Opportunities

WREA SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
To encourage, promote, and educate lineworkers for enduring and rewarding careers with Wyoming’s electric cooperatives.   
Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who plan to attend an approved regional lineworker training program. 

    1. One or more scholarships will be awarded each year.
    2. The Scholarship shall be for $3,000. 
    3. The scholarship is available to all qualified applicants, recent high school graduates and older “non-traditional” students, interested in a career in the electric industry.

The $3,000 scholarship will be paid in two separate installments of $1,500 and will be paid directly to the student’s account at his/her school of choice.

Verification of enrollment and GPA must be sent to WREA upon completion of each semester and prior to release of additional scholarship funds.

No further scholarship money will be awarded in the event the student fails to complete the program or fails to maintain a 2.5 GPA, at which time the student will be asked to repay the scholarship funds previously received.

RMEL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
In addition to degree seeking students, the Foundation will accept scholarship applications for craft or certificate programs.  All applicants must be a high school senior or college undergraduate enrolled in and pursuing an undergraduate or associate degree or electric utility position certificate at a college with the intent to enter the electric energy industry. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen

Recipients are chosen by a selection committee of the RMEL Foundation based on motivation to succeed, service to community and school, and academic ability. Students from all parts of the RMEL service territory are encouraged to apply.
